Captain Jim Bourland
Captain Jim has over 25 years of experience fishing area waters as a recreational angler, tournament fisherman, commercial fisherman, fly fisherman, diver, and spearfisherman. He has also travelled internationally fishing many areas of the U.S., as well as around the world. U.S. Coast Guard licensed and insured, Captain Jim has researched and explored thousands of offshore coordinates and fishing spots inshore and offshore.
The Gulf of Mexico waters, Tampa Bay, and the grassflats and oyster bars of West Central Florida are some of the most fertile fishing area in the U.S. and offer year round heart pounding fishing action of all kinds. Our Charter Boats
Offshore Boat – For adventures off the coast of Florida, Ocean Sport II is a 33′ Tournament Edition World Cat Power Catamaran. She is powered by twin 300HP Yamaha outboard motors and has full electronics including side scan, traditional, and structure sonars. Ocean Sports II is also equipped with a GPS chartplotter, autopilot, and a fifty mile open array radar so you know the exact conditions you will be fishing in. In addition to the full first-aid kit, the vessel is also equipped with oxygen, an AED (automated external defibrillator), as well as an EPIRB, and AIS vessel tracking.
Inshore Flats Boat – For inshore grassflats fishing, Ocean Sports Charters provides an 18’2″ Action Craft Flatsmaster with a 115HP Yamaha 4-Stroke. The boat is equipped with a poling platform to quietly and easily maneuver through the grassflats and oyster beds commonly seen around the edge of Florida. Whether you are targeting inshore species such as snook, redfish, trout, or one of the dozen other game fish found in these waters, the lightweight and agile Action Craft can get you closer to the action inshore while still providing comfort in the choppier waters of the bay.
